Sheila Self is a Deliverance Minister & Counselor who specializes in Christian counseling. She mentors individuals one on one or in group settings, supporting both adults and children. As a minister of the gospel through The Cross Ministries, she is passionate about sharing the goodness of God.
Sheila Self and Gary Self are the founders of The Cross Ministries. In December 2012, Sheila had a supernatural encounter with the Lord; feeling the presence of God, she was set free from sins, delivered from bondage, and received an anointing. During this transformative experience, she had an open vision where God gave her a new heart filled with love for people. In 2014, she received another open vision that displayed a sign reading: The Cross is where it all began. Following her encounter with the Lord, Sheila began learning about deliverance through dreams and visions. God spoke to her heart, revealing that she would have a ministry focused on casting out demons and healing. In January 2015, she started volunteering at a women's home in Cullman, where the Lord ignited a hunger in her to learn more. This led to an opportunity to minister at the Cullman County Jail, embarking on a five-year journey of teaching and mentoring within the jail system, where God shaped her into a teacher of His Word. In January 2017, Sheila and Gary felt led to open one of their rental properties as a women’s home called The Grace House. Over the next six years, they dedicated themselves to mentoring and providing Christian counseling to women seeking inner healing and deliverance from addiction. In 2021, Sheila graduated from the Transformation Ministry School in Birmingham, AL, and for two years, she hosted the Cullman Campus for Transformation Ministries. Additionally, she completed 24 hours of Level 1 & 2 Armed and Dangerous Spiritual Warfare Training with Pastor Henry Schaffer of South Carolina. Now, Sheila serves as the Executive Director of The Cross Ministries, where she offers Biblical counseling to those searching for freedom. It has been a long, hard journey, but it has been worth it, and both Sheila and Gary are immensely thankful to God for the transforming work He is doing in their lives. All praise, honor, and glory to Jesus Christ our Savior.
