Sometimes all it takes to change someone's world is to simply say HELLO. This small gesture can be a crucial step in connecting someone to mental health resources or encouraging them to learn about QPR training for effective suicide prevention.

*Talking about wanting to die or to kill oneself can indicate a need for mental health resources.
*Looking for a way to kill oneself, such as searching online or buying a gun, is a serious concern that requires immediate attention and possibly QPR training.
*Talking about feeling hopeless or having no reason to live highlights the importance of accessing suicide prevention strategies.
*Expressing feelings of being trapped or in unbearable pain is a signal for seeking mental health resources.
*Discussing being a burden to others may reflect deeper issues that can be addressed through effective suicide prevention approaches.
*Increasing the use of alcohol or drugs often correlates with mental health struggles that need support.
*Acting anxious or agitated, and behaving recklessly, can be signs that someone is in crisis and should be encouraged to seek help through mental health resources.
*Sleeping too little or too much can also indicate a need for intervention, as these changes can affect overall well-being.
*Withdrawing or feeling isolated is often a red flag that suggests the necessity for suicide prevention efforts.
*Showing rage or talking about seeking revenge may require urgent attention and could benefit from QPR training.
*Displaying extreme mood swings can be a sign of underlying mental health issues that should be addressed with appropriate resources.
*Asking someone directly about suicidal intent lowers anxiety, opens up communication and lowers the risk of a suicide attempt
*Suicide prevention is everybody's business, and anyone can help prevent the tragedy of suicide
